On July 11 in the «Triumph» Sport Preparation Center National Cultures evening event was held. The event was attended by delegations from countries such as Italy, Mexico and Kazakhstan. In addition, there were speakers from Russia: Moscow, Tomsk, Altai, Buryatia and Sakha (Yakutia).
The delegations told about their culture and traditions. For example, participants from Mexico showed their national dance, and after they told about the meaning of their flag colors and symbols. The audience met Mexico as loudly as Yakutia. Participants from Italy showed an incredible dance with national motives. «It literally took five minutes,» the participant from Italy responded to the question about how long it took to learn such an energetic dance.
A truly national and colorful number was shown by the Republic of Altai. «There is something in common with our culture» whispered about the performance the guest of the evening. Participants from Moscow sang a heartfelt song, and a boy from Tomsk struck the audience with his unusual dance and sincere conversations with public.
We interviewed Olzhas Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan.
— I study at the lyceum No. 92 named after Mahatma Gandhi in the city of Almaty, I just finished 10th grade. We have such events in Kazakhstan, but they are very rare at the International level, mostly there are only local events. I participate in the MILSET exhibition. Our project is a study of the quality of water in the city of Almaty: we investigate water hardness, acid, nutrient content.
— What did you know about Yakutia before coming here?
— My first knowledge about Yakutia is that it’s very cold and there will be even a thin snow cover, but, unfortunately, or fortunately, my expectations were not justified — there is such heat! I really liked Yakutia, especially the Lena Pillars are very beautiful! I did not regret when I got there. Yakutsk Ice Cave, the fact that you have a taiga here, many forests – it’s very beautiful. As it turned out, Yakutians and Kazakhs have a lot in common: some words and women’s national costumes are especially similar. YISG itself is very interesting because there are different nationalities here, so it’s very interesting to talk with them, learn their culture and themselves.
How did you find out about Yakutia and YISG?\
— I could say we were sent here by the state, since we have already advocated with this project all over Kazakhstan. A lot of people liked the work, including our sponsors, who decided to send us to Yakutia.
— We heard that in Kazakhstan there are special state programs that allow graduates to enter universities in other countries …
— Yes, we have a national program, and everyone can apply for it. They choose the ones who showed the highest results on special exams and sent them to study abroad. At first I wanted to study in Russia, but then I noticed that living in Russia is expensive, even if you study on a grant. Therefore, I think about going to Turkey, and then — to the magistracy — to Germany.
