Yakut national game “Chyyshay” was held on July 13 in the stadium «Junost» between the participants of the Yakutia International Science Games. Teams were consisted by children from Russia and Kazakhstan.
“Chyyshay” is a team game which goal is to knock out all of the players of the opposing team from the game by throwing the ball. Each team has one ball — no more and no less. During the game, players are not allowed to touch the ball and the player of the opposing team. The game is divided into three rounds. The winner is determined by two winning scores. There are from 5 to 7 players in a team. Players of two teams must be on both sides of the middle line of the sports field, behind the offensive lines. Each team forms a circle facing each other: the ball is owned by one of the players, as agreed upon, imperceptibly for the contestants; players must place their hands across their chest. Players can protect themselves by free and fast movement throughout the field. The game ends when all players from opposite team are knocked out from the game.
There were four teams participating at the stadium. Teams were given special green and red-colored vests with the emblem of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). In the first game, Red team with seven people had won with a score of 2: 1. In the second game Green team had won with the same score, but with six people.
Losers from the previous two games had fought for third place. Team with red vests had won. And for the first place, Winners of the first two games had fought for the first place. Finally, the Red team had won with the score 2:1
In the end, all participants made a group photo, and the winners and prizewinners were awarded with memorable prizes — keyrings from the mammoth tusk with the inscription «Yakutia».
