Our participants have been preparing for project activities for several days now. There are only a few days left before the protection of projects.
Young researchers are engaged in theory and practice every day, going on expeditions. They study places, objects and collect information for their projects. Coming back, children explore, learn different consequences, materials. All this will be useful to them on July 8, when they will present their projects.
Participants and tutors from three different directions told how the training is going and what they are doing in general.
Raisa Pavlova, participant of the direction «Comparison of Pleistocene Megafauna in Russia and Mexico»:
«Megafauna is a collection of animal species whose mass exceeds 40-45 kg. We study and compare large animals of Russia and Mexico. For example, today we examined the bones of a bison, a mammoth and a horse. Bones from Mexico and Yakutia were examined. We determine the height, width and length. At the end we always make a conclusion in the form of a table».
Alexander Boyakinov, tutor of the direction «Investigation of the function of solar panels in the summer period in considering climatic features»:
«We are studying how solar panels work. For example, for practical knowledge, we connect a controller that will optimally direct energy either from the battery or from the solar battery. The participants collected everything themselves, under our supervision, and acquired skills in practice. In order to gain theoretical knowledge, they go out every day three times to measure the characteristics of the battery. Determine the surface temperature of the panels, at what degree it should be to the sun, what resistance should be. They will find out all this».
Igor Yenov, participant of the direction «Space Mission Planning and Solar Terrestrial Interactions»:
«The planning of space missions is, that is, for example, we launch the device, relatively speaking, to Mars and we need to plan in advance the amount of fuel, what kind of radiation protection we need to put in, calculate how long it will fly and in what orbit. That is, we need to prepare everything in advance. Every day we study the necessary information, programs about orbits, listen to lectures. Then we will choose each of our favorite apparatus and calculate and plan its mission to some planet».
This is how the preparation of our guys as a whole is taking place. Everyone has different projects and directions, but they have joined together to develop their cities and other countries.
