A teacher with 30 years of experience, a specialist in STEM technologies, an invited expert of YISG-2022 Alexander Pimenov conducted a scientific game. Participants of the Games tried themselves as STEM specialists.
During the conversation, the expert spoke about his activities in the field of education and shared his impressions of the Games.
— Would you tell us more about your teaching experience, please?
— In 1987 I came to work at the school, and at the age of 29 I became a director. I have been engaged in pedagogy at school for about 30 years. And now I work in the field of the promotion of engineering education and the implementation of other projects in Russia, which are implemented by the Fund for the Development of Future Generations, including the unification of schools to create associations that are interested in the development of engineering education.
— What made you choose this particular field?
— That’s how the cards turned out. Well, I’ll say this, there was no such urge on the move. Once, when I was in my third year of university, a familiar history teacher offered to work at the school. And thus, for about 30 years I have been working as a teacher.
— Do you think that the business game within YISG-2022 was successful and how often do you conduct them?
— This was my first experience with children. Before, I arranged this for teachers. But in general, I think that the game was quite decent. Children were interested and, I hope, they realized that life is multifaceted and it is necessary to have compositional thinking. And it is also necessary to look at problems not only from one, but also from different sides.
— How do you evaluate the work of the participants?
— Mostly satisfactory, they did a great job. Everything went well. We have come to our logical agreement. And the conclusions were reasoned. Therefore, I was quite satisfied.
— What are your impressions of Yakutia?
— In general, the region is excellent, the weather is good, as well as noteworthy and friendly people. Interesting projects that integrate other people and children are being implemented. After all, it is very important not to lock yourself in the shell.
